  • Carbon monoxide detectors must be used in areas with blast furnaces. The employer is required to provide them for employees
  • Blast furnaces must be equipped with a hydrogen detector to continuously monitor the hydrogen content in crude gas; portable detectors are required for spot checks of leaks or to enter blast furnace shafts
  • In hardening shops, processing, or degreasing systems both portable detectors (for leak detection) and fixed monitors (for EX and TOX hazards) are required
